Is that a dinosaur fossil? - Google celebrates Mary Anning birthday

Today, Google celebrates Mary Ann birthday, she's a fossil hunter. That's why the doodle is a fossil. You probably wondering, who is Mary Ann? What makes her special?

In IBN article,

Mary Anning was a fossil-collecting woman in the 19th century whose discoveries challenged the predominant thinking of her era. She was working class and didn't start out as a scientist but she was collecting fossils to sell them to make a living and fell into this scientific discovery. 

Anning was credited with the discovery of several dinosaur specimens that helped in the early development of palaeontology. It is said that Anning spent a year extracting the dinosaur fossil from 205 million-year-old Blue Lias cliffs on the beach.

What? She is amazing!!

She's not a scientist but she discovered fossil. In Wikipedia, they said she couldn't participate in scientist community. Well, it's probably hard for a woman. In the past, they couldn't have a bright career, had to be at home. Mary Ann wasn't from a rich family. She struggle financially and she did not always receive full credit for her scientific contributions. Indeed, she wrote in a letter: "The world has used me so unkindly, I fear it has made me suspicious of everyone."

She's born in 21 May 1799 and died at age 47. The cause of death was breast cancer. It had to be hard and painful. I imagined live on 18th - 19th century and have a breast cancer without a cure. Maybe there's some medical treatment. But it probably not as advance as today.

Her work and dedication make realize, you can do everything, even you're a woman.

Repost? Is it okay?

Today, I had my thought filled with this question. Is reposting okay?

Internet is so much advance and people all around the world can communicate even we are far from each other. You can share info and download this and that from the internet. Are you too lazy to shop? Or you cannot find the things you're looking from? Just surf the internet and shop online. So many things we could do online..

As I mentioned, you can share info to everyone all around the world. What I am doing right now, it's sharing info to you guys :)

Do you know what "repost" means?

I google it and come to definition of "repost" from this link

Repost

1. Post (a letter or parcel) for a second or further time.
2. Post (a message, link, image, etc.) to an online location, such as a blog or social media website, for a second or further time

Yes, that is correct. "Repost" is basically you post again someones previous posts. In the world of blog (sound like a fantasy land), people tends to just post back someones posts. If you just read the definition, you probably said "ohh it's okay, isn't it?"

For me, it's not. Because there're people who spend more time just to make sure what he/she post's perfect. I know them and I appreciate them. Because I own another blog in Tumblr, if you have time or curious just click this link. 

The repost-er just post an article or picture or anything and called it their own. I know there're no rules over them. It's internet and it's wild. You cannot control people who read your post. You cannot control people to not repost. Even though there's no rules, at least, you can appreciate them by linking their original post, write down the source, or in Tumblr just REBLOG it :)

Well, is it harsh? to write it in CAPS LOCK and Bold? But it's the reality, you can just click the reblog in Tumblr. write down the source. I think if you just repost it, it's like cheating. And you don't write the source of your answers right?

The bottom line is..

Please do not repost, just reblog or you can write down the source. If you want to be appreciate by others, start by respect and value people work and effort.

I cannot change what people think. They might hate this article and consider it boring, waste of time. Well, sorry guys, you can stop reading when you see the title. Why you read it, if you don't want to. That's silly.

I L-O-V-E Wattpad!!

The title too much isn't it. But it's describe a little of what I'm feeling now. It's like the holy grail for people like me who like reading (a lot!!). Well, yeah I'm not the smartest people but I like reading. It's comforting. You can lose yourself in the story. But don't lose your mind (not yet hehehe)

Okay let's introduce wattpad first..

Pretty simple logo. According to Wikipedia, Wattpad is a writing community in which users are able to post articles, stories, and poems about anything either online or through the Wattpad app. The content includes work by undiscovered and published writers. Users are able to comment and like stories or join groups associated with the website. Around half of the users are U.S. based; most users also come from the U.K., Canada, the Philippines, Australia, and more.

And boy, it's a lot of writers with amazing stories. Duh!! I discover them this year around last month. It's amazing. I have read a lot and there're so many. If you have time, bored, just click Wattpad. Search for romance, snobby, humor, anything!! 

The writers also so dedicated. They want to be better, and I love see their passion on writing. I am not good at writing. That's why I start to write blog more. To overcome my dead brain which cannot function when it comes on writing. (hehehehehe)

Why I am writing about houndstooth? I love fashion and see what's new in fashion. There're some trend but what I want to try is this houndstooth trend.

List of things before graduation :)

After 4 years (more/less), you eventually will face a graduation. It's exciting but sad at the same time. Because you finally grown up now, face the work life. But you are gonna leave your fun college life. It will be hard to contact your friend, because then they will have their own activities. What you can do is make as many sweet and great memories before graduation. Here it is my list, what I want to do..

Things I want to do before graduation:

1. Exploring my campus
2. Enjoy all the cafeterias in campus (we have 8 faculty)
3. Take picture of my faculty (because things gonna be changed but pictures stay)
4. Enjoy a day in SC (Student Corner)
5. Go to campus gym
6. Spend my time with my friends
7. Hangout more in campus (see your junior and friends)
8. Make a good relationship with the lecturers

Because actually, I'm gonna face graduation soon..

Studying in Senior High and College

Whether you're in senior high or college, the most important thing is studying. But every students have their own style in studying.  For me, my style in studying doesn't changed so much. As usual, I take important note in every classes and do the tasks. When it's near tests week, I just review them and do some exercises.

Even though my style doesn't changed so much, the difficulties of the tasks is getting bigger in college. Sometimes I have to put an extra effort in getting the tasks done. In my major, computer science, you have to present a final project at the end of the lecture. So I have to organize my time very carefully.

If you're still high school student, you have a lot of free time. But when you go to college, make sure to organize your time very wisely and carefully. Make sure you have enough time to enjoy college life ^^

Todoist for College Student ^^

I am not super busy or something. I don't join dozens organizations or student council. I am just a regular college student.  But I am clumsy and sometimes forget the simple job. That's why I always write my tasks in my notebook. Since I am lazy to bring it around. I search for a perfect mobile application. I stumbled an article in the past (I forgot the link) but one of the best application for a student is Todoist

What make it perfect for me is the projects thing. Because I am computer science student, I always make final project at the end of the course. It's perfect for me. Of course, I don't know about you guys. The labels cannot be used for free. Hahahaha..

It cannot be denied I love free things, since that function is not free, I guess I have no choice. Beside I love this application for the free useful functions. One function cannot make some big difference, right?
