John Venn birthday - Google's doodle!!

It's been a long time since I posted here. Many things happened during that short period. Election has passed and they already announced the result. Also, my father recently passed away. It's shocking for me, because that week I have seminar on my final project.
My dad passed away on July 7th, 2014. On July 12th, I had my seminar and a week after on July 19th, I had session for the final project. It done pretty well. I almost cried there, it's just picturing me on the final year of my study in Bogor Agricultural Institute (BAU) without my dad there, it's not what I had in my mind.
Anyway, this day is the first day after a short holiday and it's Monday. Right on this day, John Vann was born. He's the person who made that Vann's diagram. At first, I didn't notice but the name, the last name was familiar.

It's an interactive Google's doodle. You can click the play button and it'll go directly to (look the picture below). You have to choose one of the options.

After the options have been choose. You can see the result. Like what I chose are, sea life and have a shell. The result is (look below)

It's a turtle. Quite impressive aren't they? You can reset it and done it many times. If you want to know more about him, you can see it here John Vann's biography.
Okay, that's a wrap. Thank you for reading this post. I am sorry if there's misspells or my English's horrible. Again thank you. :)

Brazillll - Google's doodle for FIFA World Cup 2014

I kind of forget to post this. Anyway how is the World Cup? It's such an unpredictable this year. You can see some great teams have a bad match. It's a shame. But if the World Cup can be predictable is not fun anymore. We need 'WOW' factor. Hehehehe..

Even though I'm not a football maniac, but I hope your favourite team can be in finals :)

Is that a dinosaur fossil? - Google celebrates Mary Anning birthday

It's fossil!!
I just notice the rocks form "Google" without the L. hahaha..
It's cute :3
Too bad it doesn't move..

Today, Google celebrates Mary Ann birthday, she's a fossil hunter. That's why the doodle is a fossil. You probably wondering, who is Mary Ann? What makes her special?

In IBN article,
Mary Anning was a fossil-collecting woman in the 19th century whose discoveries challenged the predominant thinking of her era. She was working class and didn't start out as a scientist but she was collecting fossils to sell them to make a living and fell into this scientific discovery.
Anning was credited with the discovery of several dinosaur specimens that helped in the early development of palaeontology. It is said that Anning spent a year extracting the dinosaur fossil from 205 million-year-old Blue Lias cliffs on the beach.
What? She is amazing!!

She's not a scientist but she discovered fossil. In Wikipedia, they said she couldn't participate in scientist community. Well, it's probably hard for a woman. In the past, they couldn't have a bright career, had to be at home. Mary Ann wasn't from a rich family. She struggle financially and she did not always receive full credit for her scientific contributions. Indeed, she wrote in a letter: "The world has used me so unkindly, I fear it has made me suspicious of everyone."

She's born in 21 May 1799 and died at age 47. The cause of death was breast cancer. It had to be hard and painful. I imagined live on 18th - 19th century and have a breast cancer without a cure. Maybe there's some medical treatment. But it probably not as advance as today.

Her work and dedication make realize, you can do everything, even you're a woman.

Another celebration by Google - Happy Birthday Dorothy Hodgkin

Google doodle to celebrates Dorothy Hodgkin's birthday
Today, Google celebrates the birthday of Dorothy Hodgkin, a British chemistry. Do you wonder who is Dorothy? If you look on Wikipedia,
Dorothy Mary Hodgkin, (12 May 1910 – 29 July 1994), was a British chemist, credited with the development of protein crystallography. She advanced the technique of X-ray crystallography, a method used to determine the three-dimensional structures of bio-molecules. Among her most influential discoveries are the confirmation of the structure of penicillin that Ernst Boris Chain and Edward Abrahamhad previously surmised, and then the structure of vitamin B12, for which she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. She was the third woman to win the prestigious Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
When I searched more, I found this,
The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1964 was awarded to Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin "for her determinations by X-ray techniques of the structures of important biochemical substances".
Every past discoveries and researches were the foundation of our life now. The science and technology grow because we constantly questioning things. Like a child, a curious child who wants to learn. And that is what Dorothy did. She said,
I became captivated by the edifices chemists had raised through experiment and imagination — but still I had a lurking question. Would it not be better if one could really 'see' whether molecules as complicated as the sterols, or strychnine were just as experiment suggested?
That's it for today. Thanks for reading this. See you  :)

What's Happy Mother's Day?

According to Wikipedia

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in spring. (e.g., April–May in the northern hemisphere, October in Argentina, but northern hemisphere spring, May, in Australia).

So we don't celebrate mothers day together in the same time. In US, they celebrate it on second Sunday in May, which is today.
Happy Mother's Day for beautiful and awesome mothers all over the world..
I don't know that today is Mother's Day, well Google has been kind and kind of remind me..
In the logo there're a woman and her children. (source: Google)
This is the search result after I clicked the logo. (source: Google)

Well, that's it for me. Just to remind you, say "I love you" to your mom, at least in Mother's Day.

The song for today, Always Love Me by Tori Kelly. (source: Youtube) This is a great song, I love the lyrics.

Note:
It seems not only Google but Yahoo also celebrate this Mother's Day even though it's Yahoo Indonesia
